Your tackle box

I am going to help you put together a basic tackle box. This box will be designed for panfish. If you want to talk about a different kind of box just e-mail me or ask me on the message board.

bobbers

Lets start with the panfisher's best friend, the bobber. Put a few weighted Styrofoam and pencil style bobbers in your box. These two styles will cover the majority of your fishing needs. Try and get them in different colors a few red and white and a few yellow and white.

Right under the bobbers you will need some kind of weight. An assortment of split shot in the wheel container should cover all of the bases.

The next item will be hooks. You should have a selection of snelled hooks (the one that have linehooks already tied to them) A selection of sizes in the 10, 8, 6, and 4 will cover most of your panfishing needs.

If you try to use soft plastic lures, you are going to need a selection of small jig heads. If you get a selection of painted and unpainted jig heads in black, orange, white, and chartreuse in sizes from ranging from 1/32 to 1/8 ounce.

You will need a small assortment of soft plastic Lures to add to your jig heads. Small 1 1/2" tubes in a variety of colors can be put in your box. 1" to 2" curly tails and shad bodies along with 2" and 3" thin worms will catch just about any panfish out there.

The size of your tackle box will depend on how much stuff you get. I can put just about everything I need for panfishing in a Plano 7600.
