Back on the road again…

On the Road No Comments »

This morning I got up at 6:30 and started getting everything ready for Santee.

My boat was completely empty, I took everything out because I thought my new boat would be here.  So I hastily threw everything back in the boat and tried to get the 5th wheel ready for the road.

It was pretty cool today.  Traveled down to Big Water campgrounds and set up the RV.  The dish is still not working my satellite finder would not make a noise so I do not know what I am doing wrong.  I must have a bad cable.

On the road to Eufaula

On the Road No Comments »

We packed it all up and pointed west.  It took about 5 hours I think but with the changing the clocks and then crossing a time zone I have no idea how long it actually took.

We arrived at the campground, drove around the available sites and picked number 6.  It only takes us about 20 minutes to set up so then I was trying to set up the dish all I could get was sat 110 and I need sat 119 I think I messed up some settings and may have to get professional help.

Moving camp to the Hill

On the Road No Comments »

Loaded everything up this morning and headed to Clark Hill for this week.  The BFL tourny was moved here after being canceled on Santee due to low water conditions.

The road trip went well with me hauling the camper and the wife towing the boat.  Made it to Hamilton State Park.  We were able to pick the site we wanted and we found a beauty.

We set up camp and even got the satellite working so we are really roughing it.

Here are a few pics of the new camp and our site.

On the Road again

On the Road No Comments »

We loaded everything up for the next 3 weeks.  We are staying in the new camper at Santee State Park just to play on Santee and get some videos of the low levels.

I hooked up the camper and the wife was locked on the boat.  We have different GPS brands in the vehicles hers took her the wrong way and kind of got lost.

It only took 40 minutes to have everything set up and functioning.  I brought along a portable dish and the receiver from the house but the Southern sky is just not viewable from our spot in the park.

The camper is so big in comparison to our old one and it is just nice to sit around and hang out.

Getting the new Camper ready for the road

On the Road No Comments »

Today we did a little work around the house waiting for the stores to open (Blue Laws in SC so nothing opens on Sunday before 1:30).

After that we made our trips to a bunch of stores in order to outfit the camper with all the necessities.  The bedroom did not have a TV and this camper is wired for HDTV and the shelf is in a corner so a regular cathode TV would not fit to well.

We needed a few other things like toilet items, camper toilet paper, some sewer connections, a portable tank for waste, some blocks and wheel chocks.

We should have everything ready for the next trip out which is Wednesday.

I have also made it as easy as possible to make comments on this blog so if any one has a comment just post away, let me know what you think.

Day 2 Greenville Training

On the Road No Comments »

We just finished day 2 of our seminar and it went very well.  We are starting to get in to the real exciting stuff and you can see the students are really seeing the light on what it takes to get your website indexed well.

At dinner I saw a sign for Southern Sportsman only a few miles down the road so we took a little side trip and it was a pretty nice store.  A little bit for everyone.

Day around town

On the Road No Comments »

Today we had a few items on the list to complete.

First I had to fix my mistake from yesterday.  We stopped in WalMart to grab a pair of deep cycle batteries.  I will take the 2 cranking batteries back to BPS in Savannah on the way home from the Stren Series.

Next we were going to have lunch at The Olive Garden with Laura, David and Travis, we got there about a half hour early and went over to the bookstore to get a book on Joomla a CMS system for website management.  We met the kids there and then had lunch.

We knew we neede a few items for the camper and they just opened a new Campers World down the road so we stopped in and bought a few items (sewer pipe and connections).

We then decide to walk around and look at some of the campers there and we saw a few that we really liked.  They were so large in comparison to our slide in truck camper.

This next week will be a good test, we will be in the camper for close to 3 weeks 8 days in Palatka FL and then 14 days in Bainbridge GA.  So this will tell if the small camper is going to work or not.  With the 2 of us our 125# chocolate lab and all the gear and equipment it will be tight quarters.

More on this after we return.
