Last day of practice
Practice June 10th, 2008I drove the truck and boat down to the official boat landing at Blythe to get a feel for that area. I started at a few community holes and did not have much luck. I then traveled to the closest marina, Westport. I worked my way in throwing a big Cache Custom Lures Swim bait in sexy shad color. As I worked to the main marina docks I had three fish come out from the docks engulf the bait and pull it under the docks for 8 to 10 seconds before releasing the lure. These fish were big all in the above 4 pound range.
This was a morning bite and they were quality fish.
I worked out of that marina and hit a sailboat marina that also gave up a nice fish to the CCL swimbait. I saw a couple of Teammates and told them of the swim bait success and showed them the lure.
I hit a few more areas and found 3 good docks that I shook fish off of on the shaky head.
Can't wait for tomorow!
