Last day for me on Pickwick

My goal for today is getting five in the boat.  I have been stuck on 4 for 2 days now so I need to put five in today.

I started in the tailrace of Wilson dam.  A drum later and a few slack knockers on the crankbait and I decided to move to the island point.  I  started with a crank and then switched to the CCL Trigger Shad and had a few boil and set the hook and broke my line.  I am seriously going to start looking for a new line.  I am going to look into more of the Berkley products, I use the floro all the time so maybe it's time to look at the rest of their line.

Next we traveled over to the lock and I hit 2 fish on a french fry on a split shot rig.

After that I decided to head down lake to some of the docks that I had fish on in practice.  We took a few shorts but no keepers.  I then worked over to the unusual structure in front of Koeger Island.  I hit a 13 1/2 inch smallie but they need to be 14 so back she went.

It was around 12:30 and I said to myself I want 5 I am heading into cane creek to fish some current out of the power plant.  As soon as we arrived I saw a bunch of small fish busting along the shore and tossed my split shot rig into the mix.  2 casts and 2 keepers in the well.  I had 4 fish and the next 15 were dinks.  It took a bunch of small fish but i finally managed number 5.  I then gave my rod and bait to my co-angler and he caught 2 better keepers than I was catching.  We kept working the samll 50 yard section and I caught a couple of more keepers that were a little better and culled a few small ones.

Then I saw a real large fish coming out of the weeds and we started flippin.  I pulled a nice keeper out of a bush and that was about the end of the day.
