Déjà vu Strikes Lexington Bass Pro Craig Fredrychowski
Craig Fredrychowski, of Lexington earned his spot to compete at the 2009 TBF National Championship for the second year in a row by securing a second place finish at the 2008 Southern Division held on Lake Norman June, 11 – 13th, 2008.
Lexington, SC June 16th, 2007 – Pine Press Printing, sponsor of Lexington Bass Pro Craig Fredrychowski, announced today that Fredrychowski earned a second place finish to secure a spot at the 2009 TBF National Championship for the second year in a row.
Last year Fredrychowski finished second in South Carolina to secure a spot as a co-angler at the 2008 National Championship held on Lake Wiley in April of this year. At that Championship Fredrychowski won the over-all Co-Angler title and a prize package worth $10k and a berth into the BFL All American held in Hot Springs, Arkansas and the $2 million Forrest Wood Cup, presented by Castrol that will be held in Lake Murray August 14-17, 2008.
Once again Fredrychowski finished second in the state while competing with 87 other top anglers from the southern division on Lake Norman last week stirring up the feeling of déjà vu.
Fredrychowski stated, “I had my eyes on the first position so I could attend the Championship as an angler but am just as excited to represent South Carolina as a co-angler and try for a repeat performance and win the overall Championship as a co-angler once again next year.”
Fredrychowski also stated, “I had a good shot at the fist spot position as I was leading the whole tournament as of day one with a weight of 10 pounds 14 ounces. Day one was interesting; I had a marina that I was doing really well at in practice, shut down due to an explosion. Later, I had a backlash, and I got a bite while I was fixing that and ended up with a fish. The bass were really responding to my Gulp fish spray, I encouraged my co-angler to use it as well which help increase his weight.”
“Day two I fell to second overall but maintained my South Carolina team led with my day-two catch of 9-5 that brought my combined weight to 20-3. All my bass on the second day were a direct result of fishing a shaky head and a Trigger Shad made by Cache Custom Lures on Berkley Vanish Fluorocarbon line.”
“By day three they had pulled water and my bite had shut off. I was concentrating on boat docks with a lot of brush. Finding brush had been the key, because the fish had been holding out really well in (the brush) and responding to my PJ Lures Jig in both the sun and the shade. I only brought 4-2 to the scales dropping me to second position in the state but still earning the chance to get to compete at the TBF Championship next year.”
As the bass fishing tournament season is winding Fredrychowski still has one big tournament he needs to concentrate on. April’s win at the Championship gave Fredrychowski a berth into the 2008 Forrest L. Wood Cup, (known as the super bowl of fishing) on Lake Murray in August. Fredrychowski stated, “I will be spending a lot of time on Lake Murray within the next month preparing for the “Cup”. Fishing the “Cup” on my home waters of Lake Murray is a real honor and I am looking forward to competing with some of the countries best anglers.”
The $2 million Forrest Wood Cup, presented by Castrol will be held in Lake Murray August 14-17, 2008. The event is expected to draw thousands of bass fishing fans to the Midlands region.
Lake Murray has produced many Pro Bass Anglers and many of them started their Professional Bass Fishing career at the grass roots level just like Fredrychowski has. It is our pleasure at Pine Press Printing to be sponsoring one of the next upcoming Pro Anglers and be able to watch his professional career take off with our help.
