A very long trip
Well I got up around 2:47 am and was out the door at 3:15. Of course I had no time this week to really get ready so I had to stop and fuel up and off to Conover NC I went.
I hit Brian’s around 5:30 and we loaded the Tahoe and pointed it West. The drive took right at 13.5 hours. We switched off every other tank of gas and it was fairly uneventful. Actually the drive is kind of boring, so we made up a new game while traveling. Road Kill poker. We assigned card value to dead critters and then then next five critters on his side made up his hand and the next on my side was my hand. Of course we could discard and draw new ones. We had skunks as wild cards, coyotes as kings, hawks as aces all the way down to deer as 2’s.
It helped pass the time.
As every one knows we have had some family emergencies this past week and I would like to thank everyone for all the prayers and good wishes sent to us. On that front we have some good news it is the “best” leukemia to have as with cure and remission rates. And his chemo therapy is going well and working as it should. Although he said I have to shave my eyebrows and facial hair for support, so I will be a cue ball for a while once he looses his hair.
While I was busy during the week the daughter who can’t be over done decided she was going to have contractions on Thursday. They started at 10-12 minutes apart and ended up being 2 minutes apart so she was admitted to the hospital.
Thankfully, the doctors got that under control and she is fine now.
The Wife has Travis by herself a lot for the next 10 days so she will be exhausted when I get back to relieve her.
But we are all just going to take it one day at a time.
