Second day of practice for the FLW Tour on Guntersville
Well, w both know how the tourny is going to be won, in the grass on the main lake. But there is a catch, there is a lot of lake and not a lot of good grass. A ton of grass is all cooted up. The coots eat all the leaves of the grass and pull it out of the bottom. So you end up with a bunch of stems floating on the top and no good grass under the water.
So we have to keep looking for the good grass and then find fish. So far we have found one spot with perfect grass and have found fish there also, but that is as far as it goes.
We have a second pattern that is strong but probably not enough for a win. With the weather warming and stable the bite will get better.
I do have some good news. In the mornings it is chilly high 30’s so that morning boat ride is cold. But my sponsor Solar Bat sent me one of their new Bat Masks. It is small comfortable neoprene mask that has a flip up goggle style lenses. It also has another nice feature of a long neck piece that you can tuck in under your clothes to keep the wind out.
It is a lot smaller than other face masks and way smaller than a helmet. It actually folds, rolls up and can easily slip in the glove box. Another nice feature is the price you can go to Soar Bat and grab a pair for under $40.
