Guntersville day 2
This morning it was nice around 22 when we got out and about. But we had an addition a nice stiff breeze.
We wanted to start at the area were we had fish yesterday just to see if they were still there but on the approach we noticed decoys and hunters. So we took a hard turn and headed a little further up the lake.
The wind made things a little difficult for the way we wanted to fish. The water temp is anywhere from 35 to 41. And even some of the back water areas had ice on them.
As far as the fishing went it was kind of slow today, Brian hit 2 fish all day and I went blank. The fish we got were not as good as the ones yesterday size wise.
We did run into a ton of bait the lake is chuck full of shad. You can be in 18 feet of water and the sonar is solid from 4 feet to the bottom. The picture shows what it looks like when you run a lure through them. Every cast is like that, we were making our lures smell like the real thing.
After the day of fishing we were heading out to grab dinner and the deer were right at the edge of the road so I grabbed a granola bar and stuck it out the window and that deer came right up and ate out of my hand.
Quote of the day: Craig” Argh! we be using pirate lures” After slamming our lures on the water to get the weeds off most of the lures have lost an eye or two so we called them pirate lures.
