You may say it is chilly
I left my house around 3:40 and pointed North. I got to Brian’s about 6:00. We then proceeded to load his Living the Dream rig up with both our gear. But there is a catch, instead of shorts and t-shirts we have parks, long johns and winter gear.
We made it to Guntersville by 2:00 and started setting up camp. We are roughing it again and tent camping to save some money. After we had base set up I worked on my rods and got them all ready. Then we worked on getting his side imaging sonar set up in his new boat. Oh did I mention it was cold. It was about 24 degrees when we were doing all of this, with a lovely breeze coming off the lake.
We were not dressed to play outside and everything was a chore. We only had one drill bit about 3 sizes to small and we ended up breaking 2 screws and the bit before it was over. It may not be the most perfect job of mounting a transducer but it will work till we can do it right.
The campgrounds are very nice and deserted. Not to many other tenters here this week. It is also loaded with deer. We have seen 2 nice bucks (8 points) and a ton of doe. You can stand at the tent and see 50 deer in a 100 yard circle from you.
We have been called “crazy” at least 10 times today by everyone we talked to and told them we are tenting it. Tonight low is supposed to be 9 and with the wind chill it will be well below zero. We are definitely dedicated to our fishing. But these few days will help us figure out the lay of the lake and hopefully find a few bass.

Good morning you guys,
Well it is 8:34 in Woodcock Boro in NW PA and it is -9 degrees here now. We know that cold weather comes with the territory. Around here with these temperatures, people will be fishing also like you guys, but the only difference is they will have a auger, fishing hut and be sitting on ice with heaters in their huts. Cold weather is ice fishing…not too many people would be going bass fishing, ha ha. If nothing else you guys should get “points” for just plain doing this.
I wish you guys all the luck in the world and please try and save warm, if you want some hunting clothes shipped down, just let me know.
Have a great time.
Mom
