Depth finder-GPS glare issue
Let me set the stage. You are working a deep brush pile that is full of bass. You are right above them and fishing vertically. You are just about to go over the brush pile when the angle of the boat is perfect for the sun to shine directly on your in dash fish finder. What do you see…nothing. The sun’s glare wipes out the display on your unit.
This happens all the time say you are working a break line in 8 to 10 feet and paralleling that contour. If the sun is up behind you, you have to either shade the unit or lean over to block the sunlight.
What can you do? Ram-Mounts to the rescue. Instead of the standard in dash mount, use one of Ram-Mounts adjustable mounting systems to secure your unit to the deck of the boat.
Your Ram-Mount will take care of the glare issue very simply. 90% of the time you can adjust the unit so it is more vertical and you will have no problems with the sun. No longer will you have to lean to the right just to view your fish finder.
The Ram-Mount system has other benefits also. Security on and off the boat. These brackets are super strong and when you clamp it down it stays put at the exact angle you set it at. If you are staying out of town and want even more security you can easily remove your fish finders from the boat and keep them safe from unwanted attention.
Ram-Mounts make brackets for many other applications, the make mounts for your car, cell phone, aviation, boats, and even your laptop. So check out Ram-Mounts and see how they can help you secure your electronics.
