Fun Zone

Saturday, March 14th, 2009

The next 2 days we worked the Fun Zone.  This place was packed to the rim.  There were more people here than at the FLW Cup.

I signed a lot of autographs and pointed many people towards a club in the TBF.

After the final day we started driving home it took from 6PM to 8 AM to get to Brian's house then I had another 3 hours to my house.

Last Day in the FunZone

Sunday, February 15th, 2009

We hit the FunZone just before noon and the line to get in the show was huge.  It was pretty non-stop all day long.

Signing autographs, giving out cards, talking to everyone about fishing; what a great day.

We watched the weigh in and cheered on David Fritts to a victory.

Outreach program for FLW Outdoors at Central Colts Elementary School

Tuesday, February 10th, 2009

As I mentioned earlier this week I received a phone call from David Simmons at the FLW asking if I wanted to be part of a presentation at a school on the last day of practice.   I eagerly agreed to do the event.

Brian and I went out early and we did find a new area that had some fish in it.  We hit 5 fish in less than 1/2 hour.  I headed back to the bank around 10:30 to get ready to head to the school.

Depth finder-GPS glare issue

Wednesday, January 14th, 2009

Let me set the stage.  You are working a deep brush pile that is full of bass.  You are right above them and fishing vertically.  You are just about to go over the brush pile when the angle of the boat is perfect for the sun to shine directly on your in dash fish finder.  What do you see...nothing.  The sun's glare wipes out the display on your unit.

This happens all the time say you are working a break line in 8 to 10 feet and paralleling that contour.  If the sun is up behind you, you have to either shade the unit or lean over to block the sunlight.

What can… Read More
