I was boat #189 so it took a while to get out this morning.   I made the run North and it was not too bad a little rough.

I stopped at my #1 spot and was the second boat there.   It only took 40 minutes to get 3 in the boat.   I lost 8 others and then headed over to my bedding area.  The first fish I saw was in the 6 or 7 pound range.  But she was not ready I did catch the buck off the bed and that made 4 in the boat.

I worked that fish for a long time and she is just not ready.  I will try her again tomorrow.

Well after yesterdays fiasco with the culling oops, I headed out looking for 12 pounds.

Ramie and I took to working a weed flat up in Goose Pond.  He hit 2 five pounders pretty quickly.  My first fish was a 6 pounder and it came on a Rat-L-Trap.  Ramie put his 3 in the boat and had a limit around 10:30.  I hit a 15 incher and a 3 pounder, then another keeper.

We both had a couple of fish pull off and that is another key.

Well as most of you know I pulled one of the best on the lake, Randall Tharp.  I felt good and was ready to go.

We drove a long way that morning and stopped at his first spot of the day.  It took me about 5 casts and I hit a 4 pounder on a trap.  That was keeper number one (keep track of this I make a huge error today).  A little while later Randall hit a keeper and then I rolled into number 2 and 3.  Then we both hit a couple of short fish here and there.  Then I put number 4 in the boat and Randall added number 2.  I hit number 5 a little later now it gets interesting.  Randall added number 3… Read More

Today was the best day of the week as far as weather goes.  It was supposed to be nasty out but it was a very nice day.  The wind did blow hard and when we were on the road driving by the lake we could see all the mud that the wind turned up.

The Wife got in around 1:30 and as soon as we unloaded her and Kristin's stuff we drove to Huntsville for registration.

I had high hopes of cutting a check this week and I did not.

I had a good pull for the last day and we stopped by our first spot and in a few minutes I missed a blow up on the Trixie Shark.  And that was the story of my day.  He put me on fish but I could not hook up.  They would hit my swim bait but just grab the tail.  I would see the blow up feel the fish and set the hook.  But I would get back a tailless shark.  This happened 7 times in the first spot.  It was good to be around fish but I hated missing those ones.
