When I got up this morning it was sprinkling, I went out of Clewiston and headed South.   The wind was howling pretty good and I need to find a a spot that I can get out of it if need be.

The area I worked had some fish in it but they were all bumper fish but if it blows and I cant make the run up I need to be able to put something in the livewell.

Then I tried to run up the lake a little it was not horrible 3-4 swells but I just did not feel like pounding it out and cut back in on Uncle Joes Cut.

You would think that with 430,000 acres you could find some water in this lake.  But it keeps going down so finding it is the key.

I went out of Harney Pond Canal this morning and drove to the spoils area.  I put 2 fish in the boat quickly nothing big just 2 pounders.  Then the area got very congested.  A lot of people showed up and fished all around, so I drove to another spot that looked promising.  It is an area that will have bedding fish in it.  2 feet deep clear water and hard bottom but right now they are not here.  Again i will stop back another day to see if they show up.

I got everything ready last night and I got up at 3:00 am.  I snuck out from under Travis' arm and gave the Wife a kiss or two goodbye.

I was about in Orlando when the Wife called and said I forgot something important; my phone charger.  I also remembered that I forgot to pack a fork knofe and spoon.

Well I had a much better practice day today and actually boated 5 keepers.

Of course I have to keep it quiet for a little while longer about what, where and how I am catching them.  But I hit one close to 5 another close to 4 and 3 more in the 3 pound range.  That would give me close to 18 pounds from the back of the boat.  I think I figured out how they wanted the bait today.  Only time will tell if it pans out the same for tourny days.

We are supposed to get some bad weather on the day off, so we will see how it works then.

Well, w both know how the tourny is going to be won, in the grass on the main lake.  But there is a catch,  there is a lot of lake and not a lot of good grass.  A ton of grass is all cooted up.  The coots eat all the leaves of the grass and pull it out of the bottom.  So you end up with a bunch of stems floating on the top and no good grass under the water.

So we have to keep looking for the good grass and then find fish.   So far we have found one spot with perfect grass and have found fish there also, but that is as far as it goes.
